ADHD Basics

Contingency management is behavioral program implemented in a specialized treatment facility or specialized classroom. This program involves more intensive program of behavior modification. In such a type of program are many diferent techniques as:

    -token economies
  • behavioral system in which person earns tokens for targeted behaviors. After he has collected a predetermined number of tokens he can trade them for an item or activity that he desires.
    - response cost
  • Iit's a "fine" imposed in response to the student's display of "bad" behavior (a cost that is imposed for that response).
    - time out
    - rewards and consequences earned by the child
    - precise teacher responses to behavior through attention, reprimands and gain or loss of privileges
Classroom management may be integrated into classroom routines for all students or targeted for a selected child in the classroom.
